Photography has always been a bit more than a hobby for me. From my first opportunity to take a picture with my father's camera, (how does a five year old hold a camera steady enough at 1/60 sec, when shaking in abject fear of dropping the camera?), it has progressed to the luxury of playing with the art and science of photography in retirement.

The most recent discovery is the art of scanning and retouching, done in air conditioned comfort, with a view of the ocean and palm trees just over my shoulder. Certainly a far cry from my first darkroom in my parents' basement with the musty smell of steamship trunks fighting with the traditional acetic acid!

Over the years my interests and subjects changed dramatically, from participatory sports events, to social events, travels, newborn children and their progress, children's sports and activities, and finally, the bonus; grandchildren! In these albums, I will try to present some of my favorite photographs separated by their theme and subject matter so you may be able to view the collections that are of interest you.

Just another ordinary sunrise. The view from our patio.
