![]() This is what Pudikeh (Pud for short) looked like when she moved in with us in August 1999. She had been scouting the property, coming in at night, for a few days prior and I thought we had raccoons. This was during the construction of the addition and there were open windows. ![]() A tiny bit of a thing weighing 5.5 lbs at about 18 months of age. Little did we know that she was an unwed mother to be, but we took care of that and all future generations as part of her complete health check up. ![]() We decided that once we had Pud, a dog would be a good advertisement for strangers planning visits. We adopted Ben from the Humane Society in October 1999. It was not a happy household for a few weeks and we came close to considering giving Pud up. Fortunately that was resolved and they are very tolerant of each other. ![]() Pud watching either birds or lizards, May 2001. ![]() He is the most docile and tolerant of all dogs I've known. This was taken when he was about 3 years old, in February 2001. ![]() Another one of Pud's unusual favorite places to curl up, my sink in the bathroom. ![]() Ben again in October 2003. He's a "Potcake," which is a Bahamian term for mixed breed. ![]() This is apparently, THE chair in the house. Whoever gets into it, owns it. It's a daily competition, people included! ![]() This great shot of Pud was taken by Jeff in 2004. In case you didn't notice, she has filled out "nicely," a tradition around here. ![]() Another good shot by Jeff of Ben, all 94 lbs of him. ![]() We bought some new patio furniture and Pud felt it was her responsibility to test it out. She has no shame. ![]() For those who think I'm joking when I warn that she's the one to watch out for. Ben's never tried to bite anything except a visitor's 145 lb trained rottweiler. ![]() Despite all this protection, you never know what's going to show up on your doorstep! |
