Ever hear the expression, "I thought I died and went to heaven?" Well I'm still around and this is close enough for me. To be able to combine my really first love, flying, together with warm weather and photography, well, need I say more? (Ed. note: A wonderful understanding wife makes this all possible.) ![]() Grand Bahama Island. The south shoreline, looking east, early in the morning. ![]() Fortune Village. Where we live. If you look closely, you can see our boat tied up at our dock. ![]() When I originally posted the aerial view of our house, someone commented, you expect me to see a boat? So I recently had some better photos taken. ![]() Can you see it NOW?? Can you also see the casuarina laying on the roof? It was removed the following day. ![]() Another view, from the east. Notice we are the only property left that still has the casuarina trees. That will change. ![]() The living reef that is about 1000 yds (meters) from our house. Great place for snorkeling and seeing the myriads of underwater life. ![]() Deep Water Cay. The first of a series of cays (pronounced keys!) east of Grand Bahama. Not much more than a runway, a dock, some private cottages, and a good bonefish fishing club and lodge. ![]() Little San Salvador. Not the island of Columbus' first landfall, but pretty. I never get tired of the combination of colours. ![]() Green Turtle Cay, one of many picturesque islands in the Abacos. |
